ALP2: Assignment 3 Food on location

Mhmmm...Pizza Time!

Self-assessment report:

Done by Gosia Babiarz & Juan Venegas.
For this assignment, our plan was to try to keep the nice colors of the ambient light of the background and use them to frame our shot.
Due to the lack of the equipment in the equipment room finally, we used two white lighting heads and a small soft box. our main light was coming from the side, with a soft box, and another coming from the back with a grid.  Our first problem was that the second flash wasn’t fireying off. But with Pierre’s help we managed to put some aluminum foil on the back of the second light and that help out in our case, the light was bouncing back from the paper and the flash was able to read the first one. As we made our tests we realized that out color balance is off, our pizza was way too cold whereas our background very warm so we added some gel filters to balance it. Still, because our background is very warm and red I find that it is a bit too warm and colorful.
I think that balancing the white balance was our main issue in this project.
This is the last shot we did and overall I think that it is ok.
